Athlete's
foot is a skin disease caused by a fungus, usually occurring
between the toes.
The
fungus most commonly attacks the feet because shoes create
a warm, dark, and humid environment which encourages fungus
growth.
The
warmth and dampness of areas around swimming pools, showers,
and locker rooms, are also breeding grounds for fungi. Because
the infection was common among athletes who used these facilities
frequently, the term "athlete's foot" became popular

Bladder
Infections
Bladder
infections are a significant problem for women. Although generally
easy to diagnose and treat, prevention should be the goal.
The bacteria causing bladder infections originate in the rectum
and are accidentally spread to the urethra (the exit point
for urine) following improper cleansing.
In
a very few, frequent bladder infections may be due to defects
in the kidneys and their associated structures. This should
be a clue to most doctors to do a more extensive investigation.
Coincident
measures to speed the resolution of an infection or to prevent
infections include drinking a great deal of water, the consumption
of cranberry juice to make the urine more acid, cotton underclothes
for better ventilation and frequent voiding with careful cleansing.
Home Remedy for Bladder Infections
-
One teaspoon of olive oil and one teaspoon of garlic juice
mixed in a glass of warm water. Drink three times a day,
before meals.
-
A teaspoon of pure garlic juice is effective in killing
off the bacteria responsible for many bladder infections.
This treatment can be repeated as often as needed.
Cold
Sore - also known as fever blister
Causes
of Cold Sore:
Cold sores are painful, fluid-filled tiny blisters that appear
on the lips and around the nose. They usually appear in association
with a cold-hence the name. It is caused by one of two highly
contagious viruses:Herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2.
When the body is stressed, or its immune system is compromised,
the body becomes an easy attack of this virus.
When you have it, avoid irritating it further with acidic
or salty food.
There are a lot of over-the-counter painkillers like any of
these generic names: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Paracetamol.Benzocaine
is a kind of anesthetic agent, and using creams with benzocaine
greatly eases the pain from cold sores.
Herpes
simplex virus is very contagious. Avoid using the same cups,
plates, towels, with others and avoid skin-to-skin contact.
The
herbal antiseptics Sage and Tea Tree Oil and the herbal sedative
Violet have each been suggested as treatments for cold sores.
Please remember that herbal treatments must be used appropriately,
and therefore should only be used in response to a recommendation
by a health care professional
Treatment
for Bleeding gums
Gingivitis (pronounced "jin-ja-VI-tus"), is the
inflammation, swelling, and bleeding of gum tissues. Have
you ever wondered when your gums bleed when you brush your
teeth? It is a first sign of gingivitis.
The primary cause of gingivitis is the bacteria that coats
your teeth, and if oral hygiene is poor, it forms a sticky
white substance called plaque. The bacteria here proliferates
faster and produces toxins that irritates your gums, keeping
them swollen and red. When they are left untreated, they will
destroy the tissues connecting the gums to the tooth, and
eventually the tooth to the bones, causing a deep pocket and
eventually attacks the bony structure. It has now progressed
into what we call periodontitis which is an irreversible form
of gum disease.
Tips
& Home Remedies for Bleeding Gums
With
a pinch of salt soaked in a glass of lukewarm water, you now
create a homemade saline solution. Use this to rinse in the
morning and in the evening. This will help increase circulation
in your gums and reduce the swelling.
No matter how well and how often you brush your teeth, you
can't reach the areas between your teeth and below the gums.
Make the habit of flossing. Floss comes in very handy. Keep
one in your bag or at your office. After meal, floss it!
